Hillery David Manley is the ____ son of Winborn Manley and Sallie Francis DeBerry Manley.
Characteristic:
Progressive Farmer - The first Black Farmer to own a tractor in Kirby Township. He would use farm equipment to do custom work which is to work or harvest other farmers crops for a fee. In others words he made the equipment pay for itself. He was good friends with Wash Boone and Jack Boone. They would often co-sign for each other when there was need to borrow money ,
He was very active in Nebo Baptist Church as a deacon
His children described him as a father that only had to shuffle his feet and they would straighten up.
He was a tobacco chewer and was known to give little children tobacco if they could spell.
He did not believe in anyone sitting on the table. He would say sitting on the table would make the table stink.
