This I Remember Section is dedicated to Sarah Ann (Parks) Ridley born 1903. To add your remembrances, send me an e-mail.

I remember that Momma Sarah always had good food ready to eat and plenty of it at her house.  I remember her being the focal point of family activities.  Everything she cooked was good but I especially remember her “Catfish Stew”.  Nobody made it like Momma Sarah.

I remember her telling me the story of the death of Poppa Robert.  He supposedly fell from a moving vehicle and died from injuries sustained in that accident.  She explained that a man (she gave his name) believed he (Poppa Robert) was having an affair with his wife.  That man killed him.  Momma Sarah went to visit this man when he was on his death bed and he said to her then, “You were the last person I thought would come to visit me!”  She also believed in her heart that Poppa Robert was having an affair.
